This one’s worth a look:
(>1 minute watch)
If you’ve ever needed to crop every image in a Lightroom catalog to a specific ratio, you know it can be time-consuming—unless you know this quick trick.
Here’s how I apply a crop ratio to multiple images at once in Lightroom Classic (and it only takes seconds).
The photographers I've worked with the most who are interested in adding a crop ratio to all or most of their images in a catalog, are the ones who are emulating film. But you may have other reasons to change the crop ratio too.
Changing the crop ratio in Lightroom Classic is easy to do all at once rather than manually adding the new ratio one by one.
And it ensures you don’t miss any of the images either. It's win-win!
Instead of cropping one by one, follow these easy steps. Or watch the video to see exactly how to do it.
Step 1:
Go to Library grid view and select the images you want to add the crop ratio to.
Step 2:
Open the Quick Develop Panel on the right-hand side. Look for the crop ratio option.
Step 3:
Click on it and choose one of the preset ratios or enter a custom ratio.
That’s it! Lightroom will apply that ratio to all selected photos. You’ll see the change happen in the Library grid.
This little shortcut has saved me hours—and made my edits more consistent. If you haven’t used this batching shortcut to changing the crop ratio like this before, try it out!
