Ever wish you could quickly check your camera settings without leaving the Develop module in Lightroom Classic? There’s a quick keyboard shortcut that makes it super-easy.
By default, Lightroom doesn’t display the image information overlay (that can show you things like camera make/model, focal length, shutter speed, etc.) when you’re in the Develop module. But it’s there—all you have to do is turn it on.
All you need to do is press the I key on your keyboard:
Press once: Overlay appears with the information set for Loupe 1.
Press again: You’ll see a second overlay with the information for Loupe 2.
Press a third time: The overlay disappears.
You can toggle through these views as often as you want.
Want to adjust what information appears with this shortcut?
Go to the top menu and choose:
View → View Options
You can set different info to display for Loupe Info 1 and Loupe Info 2—really great if you want quick access to different details.
I use this specifically to see the camera make/model and the focal length—which is really useful when editing images shot on a zoom lens.
When the Image Information overlay is turned on, it also shows it in Reference View for both images. This helps tell me when I copy the settings from the reference image, how it might change if the camera or lens is different on the image I’m editing.
